How would you like a Flying Car?

Well, fiction meets reality once again. At least one company has developed the prototype of a flying car (see the demonstration video embedded above). Well, its actually a sports airplane with foldable wings running on automotive gasoline, that can also be driven on roads!

Since the US has a network of smaller public airports, it might be easier to accommodate such dual-purpose vehicles. One cannot expect to take this vehicle to the Mumbai airport and start flying from there, interrupting all the other commercial airlines!

It seems to be small enough to be kept along with a car in an automotive garage. Again, you cannot expect to have an automotive garage in Nariman point, unless you are a Tata or a Raja 😉

Jokes apart, I thought the concept and video were interesting enough to be shared here. Do you think such vehicles will become the de facto automobiles of the future? Think about driving to the Mumbai airport, taking off, landing in the Bangalore airport and driving home using a single vehicle. Interesting possibilities 🙂

    1. It is a possibility, perhaps these vehicles might be used like the sports airplanes are. We don’t have the infrastructure anyway, but let us see what happens in the west.

Pah! Then we’d have traffic jam in the sky also! 🙄

    1. Perhaps signals, traffic policemen, shouting(s) also, on the sky? Hmmm….. Reality always kills wonderful fantasies 🙂

    1. But, what will happen if the petrol gets over in mid-air? We can’t park it and buy petrol in a can and refill it na? All such difficult questions need to addressed before its brought here!

    1. You are right. They are expecting to release these vehicles during the end of this year, or next year beginning I guess.
