Churches of Old Goa, Goa, South India. Old Goa, constructed initially in the 15 Century, and the capital of Portuguese India until the 18 Century, was abandoned thereafter due to plague. There are many old Churches & Convents in this area, constructed during that time. One of them is the 400-year old Basillica of Bom Jesus (shown above) and it contains the body of St. Francis Xavier.
