Airavatesvara Temple, Darasuram

Airavatesvara Temple, Darasuram, Tamil Nadu, South India. Built by Raja Raja Chola II in 12 CE, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site. One of the Great Living Chola Temples, this Temple is considered to be architecturally finer than the other two, even though smaller. The Vimana is 24 m (80 feet) in height and the Mandapam is in the form of a huge stone chariot with stone wheels, drawn by horses.
