An Innovative Book Launch!

I recently went to Mr. Rajamani Balakrishnan’s son’s wedding @ Chennai. He is a member of our WRIMO India Facebook group and released his first novel, The King is in Check, during the marriage reception ceremony. Don’t you think giving away print books for free is a sweet gesture, especially when most authors hesitate to give even their eBooks for free? πŸ™‚ Here’s the pic:

Definitely yes! But I doubt how many wedding guests would be interested in reading? There could have been people who simply took a free copy and did nothing with it.

Yes, but some of them might read. There are even people who buy and don’t read books — I am myself an example! πŸ™‚

Such a pleasant gesture; and i can’t help but feel, a good marketing tactic too!

Ha ha. Marketing always comes with an expectation of RoI. I don’t think in this case that is true.

I think it is a benevolent and nice gesture. That is his way of reaching out and connecting with people who could share similar thoughts.

    1. Rajesh K

It’s a way to connect with people who like reading fiction, and encourage others who don’t πŸ™‚
