My eBook: A Companion to Tourist/Travel Guides for India, has been Published!!

You can read the description/sample and buy my eBook: “Happiness Guide for Tourists Visiting India: 50 Exciting Things To Do” from Amazon (US) or from Amazon (UK).

What can you do in India, other than visiting the regular tourist places?

My eBook addresses this crucial, but often overlooked question.  It’s not a travel/tourist guide with information on places to visit, etc., but it is a happiness guide that gives information on interesting things you can do, when you visit India. It’s a non-fiction guide book and it gives all the info that a tourist guide doesn’t. It’s a good companion book to a proper travel guide to India.

  • Update: My second book, “India: 55 Must See Places & 50 Must Do Things” includes the content of the book mentioned in this page and offers more. Have a look: Amazon Kindle product page.

Don’t we all wish we knew someone in a place we are about to visit, so that we can  get to know some exciting & unique things there? Don’t we wish we could do something other than visiting the regular tourist places? Don’t we wish we knew what local people did to keep themselves amused and entertained? Don’t we wish we knew all this before traveling to a new place?

That’s why I have written this book – I am sure foreigners traveling to India shortly/planning to visit India sometime soon, will find it useful.

This book is short (10,700 words) and to-the-point, but long enough to convey the message effectively.  It can be read pretty quickly.

I have published this eBook on the Amazon Kindle platform, as I expect my readers to be from the countries where Amazon has a strong presence in. You don’t need a Kindle to read this book (although it’s an excellent option) – you can read it on a tablet/mobile (Android, iOS), PC, web-browser, etc. using the free Amazon reading apps. The various reading options for Kindle eBooks can be found here.

You can click on the book image (in the Amazon product page) in order to read a sample (the first few pages). Amazon allows customers to return eBooks within 7 days from their purchase date, just in case you don’t like it. If you have any questions, do leave a comment below and I’ll try to answer.

Listening to songs, like the below embedded one (set in rural India), is among the various tips mentioned in the book. See if you like it –

You can visit the Amazon product page for the eBook from the below link – Happiness Guide For Tourists Visiting India: 50 Exciting Things To Do (US) or here (UK). Go ahead and buy it – A little $ can make your expensive trip worthwhile and more enjoyable than you can imagine 🙂

  1. Congratulations! Great work! I am sending this link to my sons now!

I had not heard/seen this song until now. The Rajasthani dance is beautifully photographed! Esha Deol looks nice. She is a dancer anyway!

I had thought you would play ‘aaj may oopar, aasmaan neeche’!

  2. Wow! Rajesh, you have finally done it and I’m so happy that this happened so very soon.

Hope the book sells well and gives you immense happiness.

    All the best for more.

    Joy always,
    Susan

    1. I am not concerned much on the sales numbers for this book. I’ll be glad if it is helpful to a few tourists who come to India. Thanks anyway… 🙂

    1. Thank you… I am trying to write one humorous short story collection (in the historical fiction genre). But I don’t want to take up any time-bound targets to finish it. Let’s hope I will be able to write and publish that one too… Thanks 🙂

  3. This is a fantastic achievement and a important milestone. I have seen a number of bloggers progress from just blogging to writers and it does seem like a natural progression. I look forward in reading this piece of work.

  4. You had done it so well Rajesh! Congrats 🙂
The idea is self publishing is inspiring and I also liked the cover of the book and read the sample available at Amazon. It’s a book on Indian enthusiasms! All the best for many such steps in future.

    1. Thanks Mahesh. But this is just a self-published eBook which anyone can do. I do hope more bloggers will consider publishing their own eBooks… 🙂

    1. I love the energy of this song. Have you listened to the audio-only version of this song in raaga.com or music.raag.fm?> It’s too good. I saw the video only on the day I embedded the song here, but I loved the audio and have been listening to it for a long time! I like the Indian feel (to the music) and the depth of the voice in this song.

    1. Thanks zephyr 🙂

I think, that short-story collection will take a long long time to get published. I have just finished one story out of 15! Besides, one needs to get a new idea for each story, and feel creative while writing it. Anyway, I will try to finish it, but I am not focused on any time frame 🙂

  5. Wow!! congrats!! will download and read it surely! you should write a guide post for us bloggers how to self publish an ebook.

    1. Oh, it’s so simple. You can just write your eBook in MS Word and upload it in Amazon KDP along with a cover image. You can use their cover creator to create that cover image, if you want.
